More Random RE Musings
A few weeks off before breaking out the guitar in anger again (really must get it re-strung this time), and time to reflect on how things are hanging in the RE world at the moment.
The Autumn 2010 and Spring 2011 seasons have been strange, even by our standards. Wonderful but strange. Rachel got a big send off in November, only to guest for us twice on consecutive weekends in February and March, Andy got his feet under the table by expending more energy in each 75 minutes of RE4 than he does in leading every other service throughout the year, we travelled to London and a TV Studio in Warrington as well as Swanland and Anlaby (which are less than a mile apart).
Some things, however, remain the same. Apart from my continued ability to end RE events with fewer strings than I start them with, the impact of the events and their ability to touch people goes on unabated. One attendee told us after one that he hadn’t felt as close to God in 20 years as he did during the RE. Ultimately, everything else aside, that one conversation makes all of the blood, sweat and tears it takes to put these events together absolutely worthwhile.
I usually do this on theREIGN’s website (not sure why), but I have outlined below all of the music used in RE4, which was a combination of greatest hits (Song 2 getting another outing) and brand new stuff.
There are some significant changes going on with the band, so make sure you check in with the band’s site over the next few days to keep up to date with all of that.
Finally, if you have attended one of these events, either recently or otherwise, please do let us know what you thought of it (good and bad).
