No RE for GB09, but plenty elsewhere

It has just been confirmed that we are not being invited to lead a Rock Eucharist event at Greenbelt 2009 in order to give the event a rest from the festival worship programme. This is not an entirely unexpected turn of events … in fact, when we led the first one in 2007, we were effectively told that we would probably be rested after two years and, following a couple of changes in worship personnel on the GB team, this is exactly what has transpired.
Hopefully, we will be invited back to lead some more of these events in future years.
All that said, in advance of the showcase event on 7 May, the diary for Autumn/Winter is already starting to take shape. In addition to an event for Churches Together in Driffield at the end of November, and a further one in Barrow Upon Humber, we have now been invited back to lead two further events at Hutton in October 2009 and February 2010.
Please pray for the churches where we have led events to date, and also for those inviting us in for the first, second or third time. Pray that they provide the members of those churches with a new and exciting worship experience and a new way of looking at the most wonderful of all the Christian church’s set services, Holy Communion.

The new-look Communion on the Rocks website is now pretty well up and running (although I do need to get some more pictures to put up in the Gallery).
We now have a fully functional Calendar, complete with nifty listing of upcoming RE events on the home page, and a quick reminder of the next event in the footer on most other pages. There is also now a neat Booking Form on the Bookings page, that you can use to express your interest in holding an event in your own church.
We hope to add some additional, cool features soon, so stay tuned.

The wholesale update of the website is ongoing, and the Picture Gallery now includes some images from Greenbelt 2008, both the main Friday night event and the RELite Spontaneous Worship event on Saturday morning.
Still to come is a full calendar of forthcoming and previous events, as well as a slick and easy method of contacting the band to arrange events.
Hopefully, we will be in a position to add a few video and song snippets along the way but, at this point, we are still trying to address the legality of this from a copyright perspective … obviously we don’t want to do anything to upset the artists whose music we are using to make these events what they are.
